THE naming rights sponsor of the Bathurst 1000, Repco, has donated $25,000 to help the LifeChanger Foundation support children in the Bathurst community.
The donation was made during Fox Sports' Friday Night Live broadcast from Mount Panorama.
Repco executive general manager Wayne Bryant surprised LifeChanger CEO and founder Scott Watters during a piece about the charity
"It takes $25,000 to bring a program to life in the community and we're not leaving the mountain this weekend leaving you short, Scott, so we're going to get you started with a fully-funded Enlighten the Heroes program for the Bathurst community, donated by Repco," Mr Bryant said.
LifeChanger was named the charity partner for the Bathurst 1000 last week and as such will be the beneficiary of fundraising efforts happening across the event.
The foundation had already started to work with kids in Bathurst on Friday, and the donation from Repco was the icing on the cake.
"It was exciting to start working with the kids today. It's a long commitment for us, we really want to work with this community and you've help us do it," Mr Watters said.
"Mate, this has blown me away."
LifeChanger is a preventative mental health and wellbeing non-profit that empowers young people to live thriving, resilient lives.
