Bathurst Showground land manager Andrew Fletcher led a guided tour through the pavilions and surrounding buildings on Tuesday and Wednesday, running people through what works had been completed.
Mr Fletcher said the tours were well received, saying there was so much interest that he might host another early next week.

"There was an opportunity to let the general public wander through the works in its entirety," he said.
"We've taken people through, explaining what the works were for and answering any questions people have, like the colours and what the works were for.
"At least people were able to get an understanding of what works have been happening and why they've been happening.
"We've been thinking about having some more tours. It's been a lot more popular than we thought. We'll have a chat about it and see if we want to put any more on, maybe early next week."

Mr Fletcher said he received plenty of positive feedback from the tours.
"People are extremely happy with the works and everyone seems to have a consistent view that they're amazed that we've managed to do so much with $3.3 million," he said.
The works at the showground are all but finished. All the structural work is done, with just some extra painting and tidying up to be done for it to be officially completed.
Mr Fletcher said he's been thankful for the grants he's received over the years to help fund the refurbishment of the historic buildings.
"I started getting these engineering reports from Calare Civil, which indicated every building was unsafe. I launched into seeking grant funding based on the engineer reports and it just kept growing," he said.
"We were lucky that we got these grants approved, so we kept doing the work.
"There have been three tenders that have run for the works at the showground and we've been flat out ever since. I've got to say, I was particularly impressed with the contractor Hines Constructions.
"They have really worked with us, rather than working for us. That made my life a hell of a lot easier. All that $3.3 million went to local trades, so all that money has gone back into Bathurst."
The works at the showground were completed thanks to a $3.3 million grant from the NSW Government.
The showground site was founded in 1815.
