A FATAL crash east of Bathurst is now under investigation by police.
About 7.15pm on Wednesday police were called to the Great Western Highway at Mount Lambie after a truck and sedan collided head-on.
The driver of the car, a woman, died at the scene. She has not yet been identified.
The male truck driver was taken to Bathurst Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests. He suffered minor injuries.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Police have urged anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page.

Update 8.09pm
THE Great Western Highway is closed in both directions and diversions are in place following a serious accident between a truck and a car.
Eastbound motorist are advised to take the diversion to Range Road towards Portland, then Pipers Flat Road to Wallerawang and Barton Avenue back onto the Great Western Highway.
Westbound motorists should divert to take Barton Avenue to Wallerawang, then Pipers Flat Road towards Portland, then Range Road back to the Great Western Highway.
This route is suitable for all vehicles except b-doubles who will have to park.
Earlier 7.21pm
EMERGENCY services are on scene at an accident east of Bathurst on the Great Western Highway.
The emergency call came just after 7pm to an accident between a car and a truck on the highway at Mount Lambie, around 41 kilometres east of Bathurst.
RTA Live Traffic’s website has urged motorists to reduce their speed and exercise caution of they are travelling in the region.
