Detectives are continuing their investigations into the break and enter which occurred last month, after someone gained entry into the retailer through the roof of the business, and once inside stole $60,000 worth of stock, namely cigarettes.
Duty officer with Chifley Police District, Inspector Gerard Powell said the break in occurred overnight between May 28 and May 29, with initial investigations suggesting the thief accessed the business by cutting through the ceiling after it had ceased trading for the day.
Inspector Powell said detectives have been investigating the break in, but urged anyone in the community who may know something, or hears of people trying to off load cigarettes in large quantities or selling cigarettes on the cheap, to contact police.
He said the circumstances of the break and enter are still being investigated by detectives, who are also reviewing CCTV, and encouraged anyone who may have seen or heard something, no matter how insignificant, to come forward.
