A TEENAGE boy remains in hospital in a critical, but stable condition after suffering a gunshot wound on a Sofala property.

Just after 9.30am Sunday, two boys aged 16 and 15 years old, were hunting on a property on Ilford Sofala Road when the 15-year-old was shot in the back.
Police believe the shot was the result of an accidental discharge of a firearm.
The teenager was taken by ambulance to Bathurst Airport, where he was then airlifted to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead for treatment.
Detectives from Orana Mid-Western Police District attended the property and commenced an investigation into the incident.
A 57-year-old man was spoken to at Bathurst Police Station and later released.
Police have seized the man’s firearms and firearms licence as their investigations continue.
