In the case of Wayne Talbot, however, the book fair is a platform to showcase his authored works.
Mr Talbot has been writing for around 10 years and always makes sure to reserve a number of copies for Lifeline's book fairs.
"My works primarily focus on scientific inquiries into evolution and religion," he said.
"While I'm not of any religious denomination, I find religion a curious subject to research."
Through his works, Mr Talbot encourages readers to broaden their understanding of key social constructs.
"In this age of instant communication, the art of discernment is falling by the wayside, and my goal is to exercise minds through reading," he said.
