SCHEDULING difficulties have delayed plans to construct a roundabout at the intersection of Mitre, Suttor and Lambert streets in West Bathurst.
The tender for the project was awarded to Talis Civil in August and, while Bathurst Regional Council has had discussions with the company, a commencement date for works has not been set.
Council's director of Engineering Services, Darren Sturgiss, explained that coordinating services was holding up progress.
"We are struggling with our statutory service providers in having a fixed date when they could all be on site at the same time to expedite works," he said.
"What we don't want to have is a service provider turn up and do their bit and then have a length of time before the next one turns up.
"Scheduling that at the moment is proving difficult, but we are continuing to liaise with those authorities."
He said that, once a definite schedule is determined, the community will be advised of pending works.
It is expected that the intersection will remain open for the majority of the construction period.
