The Bathurst Eisteddfod was originally locked in to run from August 22 to September 12 and organisers are still hopeful of committing to the same dates.
There's also plans to open syllabus A in early June, which includes dance, music and speech solos, duos and quartets.
"Keep a watch on Facebook for announcements on syllabus B which will include groups and a few fun and new sections," the Facebook post said.
"Syllabus B will be online so you can enter from near and far.
"Due to COVID-19, government rules and guidelines continue to change on a regular basis. Whilst we wish to see you all shining on stage in 2020, we still may have to cancel depending on government guidelines.
"Please note that should syllabus A of our eisteddfod not go ahead, all competitors will be reimbursed their entry fees in a timely fashion."
This year will mark the 75th anniversary of the Bathurst Eisteddfod, a special milestone for the annual event.
