Arts OutWest has provided $900 in funding from their Assistance Grants scheme to support new t.Arts members Jessica Phippin and Amanda Agustin.
"The funding removes a financial barrier for both artists by covering the joining fee [$300] and some of their annual fee [$300 a year]," Arts OutWest executive director Tracey Callinan said.
"It benefits t.Arts through the addition of two creative thinkers to their membership, while also allowing Arts OutWest to maintain support for creative individuals."
T.Arts director Louise Ranshaw said the funding will allow the two new members to exhibit work and gain vital commercial gallery experience.
"The new members brings our membership back up to 11, and we're looking forward to Jessica and Amanda's contributions," Ms Ranshaw said.
"It's nice to welcome two younger faces to the collective, as attracting youthful artists is key to keeping these sorts of galleries going into the future."
Ms Phippin, a trained gold and silversmith with key interests in painting and sculpture, said the funding comes as welcome support in such difficult times.
"I love being able to express myself across a range of different mediums in order to connect with others," she said.
"These galleries play such a vital role in facilitating local artists, and we need more support for places like the t.Arts Gallery to help society flourish."
Ms Agustin said the t.Arts membership is an excellent opportunity to display and sell work, as well as connect with the local community.
"I specialise in detailed drawing, drawing heavily on the use of ink and pastels to enhance the creative process," she said.
"I'm very grateful for the opportunity and the more diversity in local galleries, the better."
T.Arts was established in 2013 and is situated at 80 George Street. For more information, visit the gallery's Facebook page.
