The Bathurst Combined Pensioners and Superannuants Association (CPSA) has arranged a candidate forum for 10am on Thursday at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre.
CPSA president John Hollis said that a lot of the groups and individuals running in the election will be represented at the forum.
"The response has been tremendous. We're looking for a representative of each team plus the single candidates to talk and at this point we're at about 18, so the majority have responded," he said.
"And the indication is the community has responded well, too, because BMEC told me they've had quite a few people ring up to see if they have to get tickets to come along."

Audience members have been invited to provide written questions to the CPSA to be put to the candidates.
Mr Hollis expects there will be a variety of questions and is considering asking one of his own: 'What do you hope to achieve in your first 100 days on council?'
"That shows that the candidate has really thought about what they have to do to get the ball rolling on their council term," he said.
He is encouraging community members to attend the forum, saying it will help them to see who is a good fit for Bathurst Regional Council before going to the polls.
"It's their opportunity to really see the candidates and see them in the flesh, they can talk to them one-on-one, they can ask the questions in the forum, they can compare candidates to each other. In other words, they can really pick the best of the best from the candidates," Mr Hollis said.
