Contesting the division two title, Bathurst endured a tough second half in their match against hosts and eventual gold medallists Orange.
But after conceding four second half goals to lose that game 5-0 on Saturday, Bathurst hit back to finish the tournament with a pair of victories.
It saw them finish in fourth place.
"They could of dropped their heads after that game but instead it fired them up," Bathurst coach Sheree Richards said.
"Orange had beaten one lot 9-0, they were handing out floggings, so the fact we held them to 1-0 at half-time was really good.
"It fired them up heaps for the game after that and we won that 4-2 then we had the play-off and ended up winning that 3-0, which put us into fourth for the tournament."
Bathurst's 4-2 win was against the then undefeated Sydney East side, while on Sunday they finished in fine style as they held Northern Sydney and Beaches scoreless in the play-off for fourth.
Even on Friday when Bathurst couldn't quite manage a win, the side pushed both Northern Sydney and Beaches (2-1 loss) and Parkes (4-3 loss) all the way.
"Across all the division it was actually quite competitive, once we hit our stride we really could have taken any of them out. The girls just played so well all weekend, they just did an awesome, awesome job," Richards said.
"Our three pick-ups that came from when their team pulled out ... they were brilliant too. It was a very good little team.
"We still only went down by one goal in both our games on Friday, but the more they played together the better everybody just slotted in together and it just worked really nicely.
"If it had gone another day we would've beaten everybody I reckon."
While pleased with her entire squad, Richards offered special praise to two of them.
"Georgia Baillie in the goals, like always she was really solid. She had a great tournament, she just played so well," she said.
"Michaela Bowker was our top goal scorer. She was a bit nervous before it ... but she was on fire, she was like bang, bang, she got five for the weekend.
"She was amazing, she played really well."
