IT'S a clear sign that the rugby league season is closer than you think: tickets have gone on sale for Bathurst's next NRL match.
And this year, those at Carrington Park will be watching the defending premiers.
The Panthers will take on the Newcastle Knights on Saturday, March 26 as part of Penrith's continuing long-term deal with Bathurst Regional Council.
Mayor Robert Taylor said Bathurst first hosted a round of the NRL in 2014 "and since then our supporter base for the Panthers has continued to grow".
"Bathurst is the Panthers' second home and I am sure fans will be out in force for this match," he said.

The round three match will be played at 3pm and tickets are available from 123Tix and through BathurstNRL.com.au.
"This year a new ticketing category has been added, the picnic pass, which includes four general admission tickets, a grazing box and beverage package," Cr Taylor said.
"You simply turn up and enjoy the atmosphere of the game with your catering supplied. These are only available to purchase prior to game day."
The Panthers defeated the Manly Sea Eagles 28-16 at Carrington Park last year after leading 16-6 at half-time.
