The project is running on schedule and the relocation of utilities on the route is on track to begin early next year.
The upgrade was announced by Member for Bathurst Paul Toole, Minister for Roads Melinda Pavey and Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance in Bathurst in June as part of a broader road infrastructure package for regional NSW.
The highway will be upgraded to dual lanes from Ashworth Drive, Kelso to Ceramic Avenue, Raglan – adding to the 2.8 kilometres of dual lanes completed through Kelso in March last year.

Work began on the site in August, involving survey and geotechnical investigations.
Mr Toole said this week the project was running to schedule.
“The survey has been completed in site and the survey model is being finalised,” he said.
“Geotechnical investigations will be undertaken in the coming month and following this a concept design will be completed to allow utility relocation in early 2019.”
Mr Toole said once the concept design is complete, community consultation will start in late 2018 and run into early 2019.
The expansion of the highway from Stockland Drive to Ashworth Drive through Kelso cost $104 million and took around two-and-a-half years.
During the construction period, there were calls for the project to be expanded to Raglan.
Mr Toole has previously said he expects the duplication to Raglan to be finished during the 2019-20 financial year.
