Genevieve Croaker will represent Bathurst on Australia Day after being named the 2019 Citizen of the Year on Monday.

Ms Croaker has volunteered with various community groups for the best part of five decades.
She is president of Bathurst’s Can Assist, an organisation that supports people undergoing treatment for cancer.

“This is just unbelievable,” Ms Croaker said after winning the award.
“It is an absolute honour and I am humbled in receiving it.
“I believe we all have to put work into our community. It is very rewarding and challenging.”
The 2018 Citizen of the Year Vicki Wilson Morgan announced this year’s winner.
Bathurst mayor Graeme Hanger was also present during the award function at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre.
