Ms Poshoglian, a bestselling author of over 30 titles for young readers, visited the school for their inaugural Literature Festival.
"Literature is incredibly important in helping readers expand their imagination and strengthen their own communication skills," she said.
"Bathurst is close to my heart and I'm thrilled to have been a part of Scots All Saints College's first Literature Festival."
The festival ran from June 17 to 19, providing an opportunity for Scots All Saints College students to develop their understanding of the influential role literature plays in everyday life.
Scots All Saints College head of library and information services Cate Mitchell said the festival aimed to familiarise students with popular works of literature.
"Our festival celebrates the love of books, with authors and illustrators visiting the school to ignite the imaginations of students and staff," Ms Mitchell said.
Ms Poshoglian said good literature is the 'field of dreams' for all readers.
"In today's world, it's important that we're all able to dream and express our desires for a better future," she said.
