IN OTHER NEWS:
Mia attends Kelso High and has been a featured dance ensemble member at Schools Spectacular.
Lily was awarded a Summer Intensive at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts (Sydney) for her work, 'In My Dreams', which she says is about not giving into society's pressures and following your own path.
Lily attended Bathurst High and was a member of Sydney Dance Company's 2019 Youth Ensemble.
She also travelled to the United States in 2019 to attend the prestigious Joffrey Ballet School's Summer Intensive program for jazz/contemporary.
Sharp Short Dance provides an opportunity for dancers and choreographers aged 21 years and under to show their works to a panel of industry professionals and win highly sought-after industry secondments with major professional dance companies.
This year's judging panel was comprised of some of the industry's most respected names, including Omer Backley-Astrachan (Sydney Dance Company's pre-professional year course co-ordinator), Shaun Parker (artistic director of Shaun Parker and Company), Jo Clancy (founder and director of the Wagana Dancers), Emma Saunders (FORM/WE ARE HERE company associate artist), Melissa Ramos (founder and director of Dance Cinema), Jamie Winbank (independent dance artist, producer and choreographer), and Aruna Gandhi (founder and director of Silambam-Sydney).
The Sharp Short Dance festival is usually held at Riverside Theatres in Parramatta in western Sydney, but the event was moved online this year so that it could go ahead in COVID-19-safe conditions.
