Bake, Table & Tea owner Melissa Kelly is looking forward to returning to business but said the next few months would still be difficult.

"It's been extremely tricky whilst in lockdown but I think it's going to be extremely tricky up until Christmas," she said.

"A lot of our suppliers that we deal with are small micro-businesses that need cash upfront for their products ... I've also had some suppliers say they're not restocking their products because of all the uncertainty.

"On the upside, it will be amazing to open on Monday and actually have people come in and see what we have received and get back to some normality."

Bake, Table & Tea opened its doors this time six years ago and Ms Kelly said because of the timing it feels like a new grand opening.

The decision was made to shut the doors during lockdown and only offer click and collect and contactless deliveries, with takeaways handed to customers outside of the shop.

Ms Kelly is grateful for the continued support her loyal customers who kept the momentum of her business going.

"A lot of people I spoke to were going out of their way to support local businesses as much as possible," she said.

"That's really nice for our community to know that people understand that it is important to keep our local stores running."

Despite the challenges that still remain, Ms Kelly is looking forward to reuniting with her staff and community of customers.
